About us

Prossimo is a wine venture of Duncan Buchanan that focuses on varieties that work best in their particular region.  It began when he was able to secure a precious parcel of grapes from 50 year old shiraz vines near Halls Gap.  From this the 2015 Prossimo Grampians syrah was born.  In 2016 the portfolio was expanded to include a Mornington Peninsula pinot noir along side the Grampians syrah.  2021 will see a Mornington Peninsula   All wines are made using 100% wild yeast, varying levels of whole bunch inclusion and minimal intervention during the winemaking process, unfined and unfiltered.  The philosophy is do all your work in the vineyard so you don’t need to do too much in the winery……
